First Sony Smurfs Image Revealed

Sony Animation has released a teaser image for their upcoming CG-animated/live-action film hitting theaters in 2010.Animation Magazine has published more info about the project here:

More and More Smurfettes

According to a recent article on Yahoo! Movies, the upcoming CG film based on the tiny blue Belgian characters are going to have more female characters.

"There have been dramatic changes in socio-cultural values in the past 20 to 25 years," Hendrik Coysman, head of Smurf rights holder IMPS told a news conference on Monday. "One of these is girl empowerment."
