Pink Panther & Pals Premiere

There was a post on this blog speaking of a new Pink Panther animated series back in 2008 and now Cartoon Network has premiered the first episode as of March the 7th.

Thanks to YouTube, you can watch the first episode here. Better make it quick before it gets yanked. I really like the fact that the show's creators rethought their original "baby-versions" of the Pink Panther gang, but instead, redesigned the characters with a "modern" take. I do not care much for Pink's design but The Ant and The Aardvark make up for it. I don't know why, but their first cartoon really reminded me of watching Disney's Shnookums & Meat for the first time. Can't wait to see more of these shorts, they might just get better over time.

I hope Cartoon Network continues this classic cartoon resurgence with "Looney Tunes: Laff Riot" soon. They may be on their way to bringing funny cartoons to television again...

New Pink Panther Animation

Jerry Beck was kind enough to post a link to the new main titles of the recently released film, The Pink Panther 2.
I know that's the only part I wanted to see...:)

In addition to the collection, 6 out of 9 discs will be available individually but I think unfortunately they're the last 3 which haven't been available already. (The Inspector Vol 2, Roland and Ratfink and "Cartoons")

New "Pink Panther" Series in 2009

It seems that MGM and Cartoon Network has teamed up to produced a brand new 26-episode half-hour television series called "Pink Panther and Pals" to premiere in 2009.

According to this 2006 image, this new series was originally designed with "baby" characters in mind, but now the series will feature "teenage" versions of the Pink Panther clan.Of course this isn't the first time the Pink Panther has been revived with an animated series.
In 1984, Pink was made a father with 2 sons, Pinky & Panky, in "Pink Panther & Sons".The Panther was finally given a voice thanks to actor Matt Frewer in the 1993 series "The Pink Panther".Will this new series give new life to the Pink Panther characters? Only time will tell...
