More Looney Tunes Re-Designs Unveiled
More character designs that will be featured in Warner Bros Animation's new television show, The Looney Tunes Show, have be posted over at "Blogomatic3000".

Warner Bros have finally decided to re-launch the classic Looney Tunes franchise to a new generation with a new animated TV series and new CG theatrical cartoon shorts, that will feature The Roadrunner & Wile E. Coyote.
I like the new modern take of the characters and hope they are rebooted with audiences today. Nothing will ever take the place of the classic cartoon short from the Golden Age, but the characters themselves are timeless. As long as they bring the laughs and chuckles, they should be around for a lot longer.

Laff Riot Getting Retooled
As of Friday, Warner Bros Animation laid off most of the crew working on Looney Tunes: Laff Riot for "retooling".http://animationguildblog.blogspot.com/2009/11/layoffs-and-hirings.html
The people in charge are taking the show and revamping it and won't be back in production until January.
Tom Ruegger, who has worked on other WB shows in the past, had this bit of info listed on the Toon Zone forums:
"On Friday, without warning, much of the staff and crew on "Laff Riot" was let go (with a severance package and vacation pay included). The show has ceased production and is being "retooled." This 26 half hour re-imagining of the Looney Tunes franchise has been in production since May. The crews have finished storyboards and recordings of close to 12 half hours already. Some episodes are in animation, so to shut the series down at this point is a costly event. No word as to who made the decision to close it down. A skeleton crew of senior artists is being kept on to help "retool" the series along with the management team and the producers. If it gets back on track again, it would resume production some time early in 2010."

Unfortunate news indeed. Hopefully this "revamp" doesn't hurt the new show's future. I was starting to get excited in seeing this after reading an earlier article.

"We started off with Darrel Van Citters's models, now we've got a lot of Clampett influence and we're moving toward Chuck Jones ..." Sounds like the designs were moving in a good direction.
Looney Tunes: Laff Riot in 2010

Warner Bros Animation is planning to recharge their Looney Tunes francise with a brand-new series called "Laff Riot". The new show should be released sometime next year.

Can't Keep a Good Series Down
It seems that the Futurama cast did not completely vanish "Into the Wild Green Yonder" which was their fourth and final direct-to-DVD film.Rumors of the series being picked up for 13 new episodes can be read here:

A Pup Named Scooby-Doo DVD Look
The first season of this 80's show finally hit DVD earlier this year.A Pup Named Scooby-Doo: The Complete 1st Season is my favorite Scooby-Doo incarnation because for an 80's series, it was really wacky and animated.
The late 80's saw a lot of improvement for animation which was probably influenced by Ralph Bakshi's Mighty Mouse and Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
Pup's producer Tom Ruegger really wanted to create a funny show full of slapstick humor. Ruegger went on to work on other animated hits such as Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs.
The DVD set features the first 13 episodes as well as a collection of feaurettes where Tom Ruegger walks the audience through the many aspects that went into creating the spin-off Scooby-Doo series. There is also an animatic of a slightly alternate show opening!
The first 13 episodes included are:"A Bicycle Built for Boo!"-"The Sludge Monster from the Earth's Core"-"The Schnook Who Took My Comic Book"-"Wanted Chedder Alive"-"For Letter or Worse"-"The Babysitter from Beyond"-"Now Museum, Now You Don't"-"Snow Place Like Home"-"Scooby Dude"-"Ghost Who's Coming to Dinner"-"The Story Stick"-"Robopup"-"Lights...Camera...Monster".
I enjoyed reliving this wacky series, hopefully Warner Home Video will be releasing the remaining seasons on DVD...
Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries DVDs
The 1995 Warner Bros Animation series, "The Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries" will be heading to DVD this fall!Season 1 will be released as a 2-disc set in Sept 2008 with season 2 already in the works!
I wonder if this Warner Home Video's plan to keep the Looney Tunes characters mainstream? Will Taz-Mania and Duck Dodgers season sets be in the works as well?
