Looney Tunes #168

November 5th marks the release of Looney Tunes: issue #168 from DC Comics.

Daffy Duck takes on his role of Stupor Duck once again this month with art by Walter Carzon and Rubin Torreiro. This month's cover features great artwork by David Alvarez and Mike DeCarlo.
(although DC Comic's website has removed the rough artwork by Alvarez and has replaced it with a cover from a past issue, also by Alvarez.)
I'm also curious why January's issue (#170) will be a re-print of issue #136? They haven't run out of ideas already have they?

Alvarez's First Warner Bros Story

Featuring none other but the Warner Brothers and their sister, Dot.
According to the following article, "For Whom Nobel Toils" is the very first assignment David Alvarez illustrated for DC Comics. He then moved over to the Looney Tunes book with "Frankentweety".

The Abominable Snow Buzzard

I was going through my comic collection and came across this little gem.
In DC Comics' Looney Tunes # 85, Beaky Buzzard has a solo story that features Hugo the Abominable Snowman.
The story opens up like the classic Beaky cartoons by Bob Clampett and features writing by Earl Kress and art by Dave Alvarez. David's drawings of Beaky really look like the classic 40's designs. Enjoy!

Animated Yenny

David Alvarez's comic strip star is getting the animated treatment at last.

Yenny appeared 7 years ago when the strip was distributed by Universal Press Syndicate.
David Alvarez's Deviant Art page confirms the news that the Spanish Animation company Black Maria will begin production of the series later this year!
