Go Go Gadget DVD Set
I've been enjoying the recently released "Inspector Gadget: Go Go Gadget Collection" from Fox Home Entertainment.

2. The Japanese Connection (season 1- episode 30)
3. Pirate Island (season 1- episode 41)
4. MAD Academy (season 1- episode 42)
5. In Seine (season 1- episode 59)
6. Launch Time (season 1- episode 26)
7. Photo Safari (season 1- episode 27)
8. Bermuda Triangle (season 1- episode 29)
9. Arabian Nights (season 1- episode 31)
10. The Great Divide (season 1- episode 34)
(thanks to wikipedia.org for the episode info!)
Inspector Gadget is an 80's animated series that follows the misadventures of a bumbling detective as he takes on Dr. Claw and his many agents of the organization of M.A.D.
With help from his niece Penny (with her handy computer-book, long before lap tops) and trustworthy, disguise-donning dog Brain, plus his array of misfiring gadgets & gizmos, Inspector Gadget easily (most times unknowingly) foils the evil plans of Dr. Claw.

In the famous closing words of Dr. Claw, "I'll get you next time Gadget, NEXT TIME!!!" Unlike you, who can get Gadget now by picking up this great retro DVD set!
The Mighty Mouse Gang Back Together
Flintstones Strips '85
I recently came across these comics collections that ran in the Sunday paper during the 80's at an antique shop.
Great memories and I totally forgot that Hanna-Barbera's The Flintstones still had a Sunday strip running. I'm not sure if there were dailies, but these are examples of the Sunday strips from 1985.
These strips really have a lot of personality going for them. Not like a lot of the lackluster strips we see today. I'm unsure of the name of the artist working on these strips, but I'm certain they worked on quite a bit of H-B stories for Marvel Comics in the late 70's. Their style is very fitting for the classic Hanna-Barbera characters.

Retro Rewind
Happy Victoria Day to my fellow Canadians!
Teletoon Retro seems to be taking advantage of the holiday by airing a sneak peek of their upcoming shows which should be joining the line-up later this year.
Retro Rewind is a 6-hour event airing classic animated shows such as Huckleberry Hound, Quick Draw McGraw, Yogi Bear, Top Cat, Josie & The Pussycats, Captain Caveman, The Transformers and G.I. Joe. Plus the 1964 theatrical feature, Hey There, it's Yogi Bear.

Cheech and Chong Get Animated Make Over
Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong will be entering the land of animation with Cheech and Chong's Smokin' Animated Movie.
http://www.animationmagazine.net/article/9356
The film will take their library of recorded comedy based on pot humor during the '70s and '80s and will be animated so that audiences can watch the 2 characters interact and react during the classic skits.

My Pet Monster on DVD?
If your a kid of the 80's, you probably remember the popular toy that featured a furry creature with horns that wore handcuffs? My Pet Monster was quite a fad that also spun off an animated series in 1987. The doll seemed to be more interesting than the cartoon for some reason so it only ran for one season consisting of 13 episodes.
According to this link, My Pet Monster: The Complete Series will be shipping out on October 28th from Kaboom Entertainment.
From what I remember of the series, a boy finds a garbage eating monster that has escaped from Monsterland with a character named Beastur hot on his tracks. It was a fun, nostalgic series that was produced by Canada's Nelvana Animation Studio.
A Pup Named Scooby-Doo DVD Look
The first season of this 80's show finally hit DVD earlier this year.A Pup Named Scooby-Doo: The Complete 1st Season is my favorite Scooby-Doo incarnation because for an 80's series, it was really wacky and animated.
The late 80's saw a lot of improvement for animation which was probably influenced by Ralph Bakshi's Mighty Mouse and Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
Pup's producer Tom Ruegger really wanted to create a funny show full of slapstick humor. Ruegger went on to work on other animated hits such as Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs.
The DVD set features the first 13 episodes as well as a collection of feaurettes where Tom Ruegger walks the audience through the many aspects that went into creating the spin-off Scooby-Doo series. There is also an animatic of a slightly alternate show opening!

The first 13 episodes included are:"A Bicycle Built for Boo!"-"The Sludge Monster from the Earth's Core"-"The Schnook Who Took My Comic Book"-"Wanted Chedder Alive"-"For Letter or Worse"-"The Babysitter from Beyond"-"Now Museum, Now You Don't"-"Snow Place Like Home"-"Scooby Dude"-"Ghost Who's Coming to Dinner"-"The Story Stick"-"Robopup"-"Lights...Camera...Monster".
I enjoyed reliving this wacky series, hopefully Warner Home Video will be releasing the remaining seasons on DVD...
