Electric Tiki Design has recently made a licensing deal with Disney to bring 12-15 concepts to life with their various maquette designs.

According to this TVshowsonDVD.com article, Amazon has struck a deal with Nickelodeon and Paramount to release various programs with a "burn-on-demand" system.
According to Mark Evanier's website, "The Garfield Show" will be debuting in 2009 with Frank Welker voicing the lasagna-loving feline.
So much so that a French production company has developed the first in a series of "Reality Toons".
To quote their site: "Let's imagine that thanks to the wizardry of technology, we can merge the worlds of "Buster Keaton" and "Tex Avery" into one...It is not the first time that works of fiction blend animated cartoons with reality, but "Reality Toon" revolutionizes the genre."

Unfortunately not the original 1951 story, but a 2007 re-printing. It seems that Random House Inc. is getting wise of the many collectors and are now releasing re-prints of collectible stories in the form of "a Little Golden Book: Classic".
They had their hand at writing & directing another episode consisting of 3 cartoons.
Both directors worked on another episode on Volume 4.
Xtreme Trouble has Jerry Mouse pursuing a cheese truck on his skateboard while Tom pursues in chase using various "Xtreme" equipment.
In a A Life Less Guarded, Tom & Droopy Dog compete to be the best for the position of lifeguard. Droopy receives some help from Jerry while a caricature of Tex Avery and Miss Shapely look on. She's "great with figures"!
Tom goes Bigfoot hunting in Sasquashed so Jerry and Tuffy help out the hungry Andy Dick/Paul Lynd-esque Sasquatch elude him.
The bear from Tex Avery's Rock-a-bye Bear (1952) makes a guest appearance.
A lot of in-jokes were inserted into these cartoons and it seems only a fan of the Golden Age would catch them all. The bear cameo is only funny if you've seen the original cartoon. Most kids were probably left wondering why he was yelling at Tom? lol
Spike & Tony really understand how to handle these classic characters and I hope to see more of their cartoons on future volumes!
It would seem that MTV is making plans to remake the 1975 cult classic musical comedy film that parodies science fiction and horror films.
Tiny Toons was basically a Warner Bros celebration of their Looney Tunes heritage. 1990 marked Bugs Bunny's 50 birthday so Warner Bros tried to create new cartoons based on the classics that were created at Termite Terrace during the Golden Age.
The series follows the adventures of various Tiny Toons while they attend ACME Looniversity in order to graduate as official cartoon characters. The original Looney Tunes cast helps out the youngsters as the staff of the school.
Daffy Duck teaches Plucky Duck to steal the spotlight.
Furrball is instructed to catch mice by Sylvester.
Dizzy Devil tries to eat bunnies with help from the Tazmanian Devil.
Elmer Fudd teaches Elmyra to hug and love forest creatures insted of hunting them.
Calamity Coyote recieves falling advice from Wile E. Coyote.
Babs Bunny searches out "canine versions" of Honey & Bosko.
The series had many different animation houses working on episodes so the art/animation style varies from time-to-time. The characters often fall off-model but it gives the series an interesting twist in visuals.
It's a fun ride to revisit these cartoons and they are a great example of things to come during the 90's which some people have dubbed the Silver Age of Animation.
This 4 disc set features the first half of the first season that contains 35 episodes. 17 episodes run for a complete 22 minute story while the remaining 18 are made up of 3 short cartoons.
There is an interesting special feature called "From Looney Tunes to Tiny Toons - A Wacky Evolution!" that explains the origin of the series by going back to the classics.
Can't wait for Season 1: Volume 2 to be released!
