According to very early news from TVshowsonDVD.com, that just may be the case!

Disney Goes Wacky

I always like to say that Darkwing Duck was Disney's first step into "Warner Bros-esque" wackiness.
See for yourself with a couple of cartoony gags...

Duck Amuck: Clerks Style

Here's an homage to Chuck Jones' classic Daffy cartoon by Clerks: The Animated Series.

They Want to Laugh

The Warner Brothers and their sister Dot give their opinion about the way cartoons and features should be produced.
I couldn't agree more....

Stimpy the Animator

Love this clip from "Stimpy's Cartoon Show".
I'm sure everyone has this sense of excitement when starting into the animation field.

Garfield Gets Real in November

Fox Home Entertainment is releasing a brand new all-CG animated film this November, "Garfield Gets Real".

(At least he looks a lot more like himself then those live action flicks....)

Hanna Barbera Classics 2008 DVDs?

TVshowsonDVD.com has received rumored words about possible DVD sets being released by Warner Home Video in 2008.
Various Hanna Barbera series such as "Frankenstein Jr. & The Impossibles"!
http://tvshowsondvd.com/news/Frankenstein-Jr-Impossibles-Rumors/8325
"The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show"!
http://tvshowsondvd.com/news/Pebbles-Bamm-Bamm-Rumors/8326
And finally, "The Richie Rich/ Scooby-Doo Hour"!
http://tvshowsondvd.com/news/Richie-Rich-Scooby-Doo-Hour-Rumors/8327
Interesting choices on Warner Bros' part.
I suppose they're targeting people who like Flintstone spin-offs, superheroes and Scooby Doo.
(Is Tiny Toon Adventures still on the radar Warners?)

Treehouse of Horror XVIII

Here's the lowdown on 2007's Treehouse of Terror,

Mr. and Mrs. Simpson
- Homer and Marge in a Mr. and Mrs. Smith parody.
E.T. Go Home - Bart and Lisa try to help Kodos return to his home planet, or at least that's what Kodos wants them to think.
Heck House - when Bart and his friends go too far in playing pranks on Halloween, Flanders turns the church into a Hell House that's a real killer.

The new Halloween episode will air November 4th! (always after Oct.31st, isn't it?)

Just in Time for Christmas

See it in theatres in March '08!

Doh! Teacher Fired Over Simpsons Movie

Not very smart for a teacher.
In New Haven, Conn. school officials have fired a substitute teacher for showing a bootleg of The Simpsons Movie to grade school kids.

Just 2 More Weeks

Get your wallets and DVD players ready!
Just a reminder that on October 30th, Warner Bros Home Video is releasing "The Looney Tunes Golden Collection: Volume 5"!

Foghorn Leghorn in Pullet Surprise

Here's a gem from 1996, Chuck Jones Production's Foghorn Leghorn cartoon, "Pullet Surprise".
This cartoon is cleverly directed by Darrel Van Citters who previously directed 1990's "Box office Bunny".
Pullet Surprise had a theatrical run along side Turner Feature Animation's "Cats Don't Dance" and I was lucky enough to catch it on the big screen.
It's great to see Pete Puma animated once again in a Looney Tunes cartoon. My only beef about this is Foghorn's voice. It is a bit off, but the cartoon as a whole makes up for that. Check it out!

Joe Alaskey of the 80's

I was unaware of Joe Alaskey's stand-up comedy career of the 1980's. He was known for his various impersonations of famous people such as Jackie Gleason, Don Knotts, William Shatner and many more.
Today, Alaskey provides many voices for various animated shows. He has provided service for Warner Bros taking on the roles of many classic Looney Tunes such as Bugs Bunny, Marvin the Martian, Sylvester, Tweety and Daffy Duck.
I think it was a wise choice on Warner Bros part to cast him with roles originated by Mel Blanc. In the following clips, you can hear a little bit of Mel Blanc's tone in his impersonations.

The No Pill

A school assignment created with Photoshop and After Effects!
Animated by fellow student, Ryan Bollenbach

Mickey Mouse's 60th Birthday Special

Here's a rare find on YouTube, the 1988 special "Mickey's 60th Birthday" in 8 parts!
After Mickey uses magic to repair Roger Rabbit's mess during the celebration, a sorcerer casts a spell on Mickey which makes everyone forget who he is.
The world is a kimble without their favorite mouse apparently...
The special features limited animation/ live action where Mickey guest appears on such 80's shows as "Family Ties" and "Cheers".
Why oh why was the 80's such an awkward time when it came to entertainment? Cheese and corn are at an all-time high during this special.
Personally, I found the Roger Rabbit cameos the best part of this special along with Mickey being harrassed by Norm in Cheers.

A Little Powerhouse

Here's a nice animation created by a student featuring the ever-popular tune by Raymond Scott used in many classic Warner Bros cartoons.....
(hear it once, and you can't get it out of your head...)

The Simpsons and the Movie References

"The Adventures of Accordion Guy in the 21st Century" has a great article about various Simpsons scenes from past seasons and their classic film influences.
I wasn't aware of many of the comparisons listed here:

Great read, well worth a look!
