Classic H-B Backgrounds

Here are a series of great looking backgrounds from the first episode of The Huckleberry Hound Show which first aired in 1958. The series was a launchpad for such classic Hanna-Barbera stars such as Yogi Bear, Pixie & Dixie with Mr.Jinks and of course Huckleberry Hound.
The background artists are listed as Montealegre and Sam Clayberger with titles by Lawrence Goble. You can find this episode plus many others on the DVD release of The Huckleberry Show Volume 1!

Wonderful World of Benny

Jack Benny pays a visit to Walt Disney asking for a favor. Walt plays the perfect straight man to Jack's comedy wit in this rare clip.

The 20th season of the longest running television series will be broadcast in high definition and hopefully the writers will be able to improve the stories as well.
(A big thanks to MikeMedia for letting me know!)

New Pink Panther Animation

Jerry Beck was kind enough to post a link to the new main titles of the recently released film, The Pink Panther 2.
I know that's the only part I wanted to see...:)

Sylvester & Tweety Speak

Here's a couple of toys from my collection that I almost forgot about. I think these were produced sometime between 96 - 99 by Play-By-Play: Toys & Novelties.
These two stuffed Looney Tunes actually connect remotely and converse. I figure that the voices would have been provided by a no-name voice actor, but to my surprise, Mel Blanc's voice comes out of these collectibles. If I remember correctly, there was also a pair featuring Bugs & Daffy?

Happy Valentine's Day 2009

To celebrate, here is a cartoon from the 91-93 Warner Bros animated TV series, Taz-Mania.
"A Young Taz's Fancy" has Francis X Bushlad attempting to catch Taz yet again by impersonating a Tasmanian She-Devil. Classic "Pepe Le Pew-esque" gags ensue...

Tee Pee Toys

Here are a couple of interesting finds. I came across these 2 puzzles at a discount store during the past holidays and I really liked the vintage artwork.I'm puzzled (pun!) over the fact if these are actually based on an old cartoon show from the 50's or 60's? I wonder if any of you good people who look over this blog would have anymore information about these characters?

Disney Comics Crossover

Straight from the pages of Gold Key's Walt Disney Comics Digest #7 (1969), may I present Uncle Scrooge with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs in "The Washed-Up Witch"!Wasn't that the greatest Disney crossover ever? Well, wasn't it? At least the Wise Old Owl, Thumper and Flower had cameos! :)

Disney Mutants DVDs

Buena Vista Home Entertainment will be releasing 2 volumes of the classic X-Men animated series that aired on FOX Kids during the 90's.
http://tvshowsondvd.com/news/X-Men-Volumes-1-and-2/11294
X-Men: Volume 1 & 2 features 33 episodes in total and will be released this April!

Homie The Bear

I always thought this was a nice little tribute to the classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon. From the 10th season episode "When You Dish Upon a Star".

Universal Studios will also be finally releasing the 1990 animated feature film, Jetsons: The Movie on DVD this April. No word on special features if any.All this attention towards George, Elroy, Judy & Jane could be Warner Bros' plan to put them into the public's mind once again to promote their "upcoming" live action incarnation(?).

Another Looney DVD

Warner Home Video has announced an April 28th release of "Friz Freleng's Looney Looney Looney Bugs Bunny Movie"(1981) according to this thread on the GAC Forums.
